The story and plot summary of the film Dashavatharam

The movie Dasavatharam starts with a flashback which dates back to 1500-1600 AD . During this period the Pandyan king who is the ruler of the southern part of India orders all his subjects to turn to vahinavites from other religions. His subjects are mainly shaivars and one man(Kamal Hassan) and his family objects to convert. He is the priest of the temple of shaivars and he opposes to the king's(actor Napolean) wish and this makes the king very angry and he orders his army to destroy the temple and kill the people those who opposes his wish.

He orders to kill the adamant priest to be trown into the ocean along with his deity and the king's arm obeys his orders and do the same. The priest gets drowned along with his deity and the flashback ends here and the introduction of the hero (Kamal Hassan's ) comes.

The Hero in the film Dasavatharam grows in a agraharam where he loves asin who is a neighbour(who is also a wife in his past life) in agraharam. Kamal plays the role of asin's grandma who strongly objects the marriage between Kamal and Asin.

In the mean while the the hereo who is an archealogist is going to Newyork regarding his project on a sunken deity. He gets to know some secrets while working in newyork and his missing deity is kept secretly in a plance in Newyork.

The story of Dasavatharam is all about a man who takes ten avatars to rescue the sunken deity.
The screen play is totally new to tamil movie industry and people find it difficult to understand the story. But for sure this movie is a super hit and all age group people seem to love the story.



Kamal Hassan in his film dashavatharam(dasavatharam) has acted in 10 roles. The first role is preist, hero(lover of asin), Bush, African, Grandma(asin's grandma), aborgine, Singh, chinese, red indian and as a Detective.

The film Dashavatharam is said to be taken in a budget of 1.5 billion rupeess which is the highest spent film in Indian history.
